The eSIM lifecycle is the path from checkout to active Onyx mobile service.
The eSIM profile carries the service to your phone. Use it to install the Onyx line, activate mobile data, keep service renewed, and recover service when a device or installation changes.

Before Installation
Start with device readiness.
Your phone must support eSIM, compatible network bands, and roaming where required. Some phones also need to be unlocked before they can use Onyx service.
Check eligibility before checkout when possible. It is easier to choose the right plan before installation than to recover from an incompatible device later.
Delivery
After checkout, Onyx prepares the eSIM profile for your selected plan.
The profile contains the installation path your phone needs to carry the service. Delivery timing depends on payment state, account state, network preparation, and local carrier registration.
Installation
Install the eSIM profile on the device you plan to use.
Installation uses a QR code, direct device handoff, or manual setup details based on device support and service state. Keep Wi-Fi available during setup, follow the device prompts, and do not delete the profile after installation unless an Onyx recovery flow tells you to.
Activation
Activation connects the installed profile to mobile service.
Your phone may need roaming enabled, the Onyx line selected for mobile data, cellular settings confirmed, or a restart after installation. Registration usually takes a few minutes and may take longer in some countries or local network conditions.
If activation needs attention, check device compatibility, selected region, roaming settings, line selection, and local signal before assuming the service failed.
Usage
After activation, the eSIM profile carries your Onyx mobile service.
Use the line for mobile data, hotspot, calls, SMS, and Onyx communication based on the plan, number support, country, and device settings.
Usage reporting can lag while local carriers report data use or while the phone changes roaming partners.
Renewal
The eSIM profile works with the recurring plan.
When the plan renews successfully, service continues on the installed profile. If renewal fails, expires, or requires payment attention, service may pause until the plan is current again.
Do not remove the eSIM profile as a first troubleshooting step. Deleting it can make recovery harder.
Recovery
Recovery helps restore service when something changes.
If you change devices, lose access, interrupt installation, or need to reinstall, start from the Onyx recovery flow. Recovery depends on country, active plan state, number state, carrier policy, and whether the original profile still works.
Use account-guided recovery before deleting an installed profile.
